April UBC - Bloggin, Baby!

Back about a year ago I joined in with a group of bloggers to commit to blogging every day for 30 days.  I met some wonderful "friends" who's blogs I still read and comment on to this day.

It came up in my feed that it was happening again.  So, I'm in!

If you are coming to visit via UBC, welcome!  If you are new to my blog through Facebook, welcome!  If you are still coming back for more,  THANK YOU!!!  Lol!

To set the stage and let you know what goes on here, I thought I'd let you know a bit about Whitt's Kits and ME!

Hi, my name is Carrie.
  • I am a wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, coach, teacher, co-worker and business owner.
  • I have been married almost 31 years to my best friend (luv yah, Whitt).
  • I have 3 great kids (and their significant others... BTW, wedding plans in the offing and you'll be seeing PLENTY of that work over the next 18 months) and 2 wonderful grandsons.
  • I've worked at the Monadnock Center for History & Culture for over 10 years as the Education Coordinator and before that, I was a classroom teacher.
  • I am a high school field hockey coach at the school I went to and I coach players in the off-season in that sport as well.  About 3 years ago our high school principal asked me to be the girls basketball assistant coach and that's how I spend my winter, well that and watching my husband's wrestling team (33 years for him...).
  • I live in southern New Hampshire - it's the one that's right-side up (sorry, VT) and behind the weather person's head, for most of you.
  • 12 years ago at the end of this month, I started my own business called "Whitt's Kits".  It has morphed, as businesses do, from kits for teachers, to materials for scrapbooking to the world of fabric it has become.
  • I have 2 blogs.  This one started in 2010 and What's To Eat which started about a year ago.
  • I have both an Ebay and Esty shop where I sell fabrics to wonderful people all over the world.  Kind of fun!
  • My husband and my son are maple sugar guys.  They've been tapping trees on our family's land for a few years and have started Dodge Hill Family Farm.  They sell maple syrup and there's honey and Christmas trees in the wings.
  • This blog is a place that I have fun chronicling my creative endeavors.  I work MOSTLY in fabric, but.... I've been known to knit, share paper crafts (including things from my latest toy a Silhouette machine), work with re-use, recycling, toss in some yummy food ideas... you get the picture, lots of stuff!  Well, except crochet.  I can't crochet.  Yet.
Well, I think that covers it.  The most frequent question I am asked (usually once a week): "DO YOU SLEEP?"  The answer is "Yes" - very well, thank you!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to check out what we do here!
Have a GREAT day!
Carrie
