Find it for Free on Friday .... 5 Free Quilt Patterns

Good morning, friends!

I am going to make an assumption here that you, like myself, enjoy something for free!  I am not  sure where this weekly series piece may go (or how far...) but I thought it would be fun to explore finding things for free, and since I enjoy alliteration, Fridays are the day to do it.

For starters, I thought I'd go out in search of sewing patterns for quilts, being a quilty kind of girl.  I also am in the mood to invade the fabric part of my world and attack it.... and making a quilt (or two?) would be a great way to get motivated.

Sooooo..... here are some that I came up with:

The colors on this one alone scream at me "MAKE ME!!" don't you think?  This is a pattern called Starry Night by Helen Weiman, available via Quilter Magazine, here.

How about dipping into a stash of worn out jeans?  You know we all have them... This page gives you links to various ideas for quilts you can make with denim.  I rather like the first one in the second row for several reasons: it's pretty, you sew the denim to a black cotton (easier than denim to denim) and it would be fun to do.

Here is a pattern available from Robert Kaufman Fabrics - I LOVE their prints!  To get to the actual pattern, head over to Amanda Murphy Designs, here.

This one is super cute and actually VERY simple!  You can check this out at Helping Little Hands
The bumps into each piece are appliqued - WOW!!

I am REALLY excited about trying this one.  For starters, it's paper piecing and I've never tried that.  Secondly, it uses scraps and goodness knows I have PLENTY of those!

Do you have any other patterns you've run across in your travels?  Please comment below so we can all check them out.

Sunday is coming and it means the drawing for a copy of Sew-No-More Home Decor right here on this blog.  Be sure to stop by and register!  I'll be shipping right to you once someone is chosen by Rafflecopter.

Have a GREAT day, quilty hugs,
Carrie

  1. Thanks so much for the feature! That was one of my favorite quilts to make. I just put together a page with all my quilts (patterns/tutorials as well as just some finishes) in one place. You can see them here. http://helpinglittlehands.blogspot.com/p/quilts.html
