Fabric Explorations: Part 2, Stop 1
I had a wonderful opportunity to head out for another day of fabric exploration recently. This time, I took my youngest DD along and we headed northeast to start: Claremont, NH and Four Pines Quilting. We've been to Claremont multiple times for softball games over the years, and this shop was literally a "stones throw" from Steven's High School.
Four Pines was the first shop I visited so far, with a large "sale" section. As I am going to LOTS of places, I can't buy out the store in each one, if, in fact, my family would like to eat this month! So... a little something here and there and some bargains is perfect!
Here are two fabrics I snagged that I just LOVED and thought I could share with my customers ... unless of course some super fantastic project idea comes my way first! For now, if you stop by Fresh Chicks Market Monday, you can grab them!
You might be able to glean that I have a "thing" for blue...yup... I went back again and again to that floral on blue panel. Finally, it ended up coming home with me. I am thinking of trying an Amy Butler project I saw on Creative Bug with it!
DD was eying some really fun Star Wars & Star Trek fabrics, of which there were quite a few - need to remember that!
There was a wonderful selection of super soft Minky - and I mean SUPER soft!
And then, there was the batiks... oh...my....goodness! Those blue/black ones were stunning! I hadn't seen anything quite like them yet. L.O.V.E.D. I will be BACK to check out those again.
I enjoyed the space and set up, overall. There was a sense of lots of wonderful options, but not being over-crowded.
When I went to check out, she had an adorable kit for tiny quilts with the most wonderful buttons, like candy at the grocery store! The kit is on the right - it has all the patterns and all the perfect little buttons. The bagged tiny quilts on the left are the finished project. I absolutely HAVE to try that! BTW, in the back of the shop, along with oodles of threads was a great section of specialty buttons like these, themed. How cool?
We totally enjoyed the time spent there and walked away with some gorgeous fabric AND $1.16 in Quilter's Cash for our next visit. I'm hooked!
Come on back for the next stops!
Have a great day,
Carrie
